The Community Health Commission of Missouri is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Danielle Binion as its new Chief Strategy Officer. In this pivotal role, Dr. Binion will lead strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing health equity and improving community health outcomes across the state.
Dr. Binion joins the Community Health Commission with extensive experience in diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) strategy development, educational reform, and public health advocacy. As a recognized leader in her field, she has dedicated her career to addressing systemic inequities and creating innovative solutions that foster inclusive environments.

Dr. Binion holds a Doctorate in Leadership in Higher Education from Baker University and has held key leadership positions, including Director of the Office for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at the KU Medical Center. Her work has led to the successful launch of initiatives such as the Center for African American Health, which secured $3.44 million in funding, and the development of culturally responsive programs that have significantly increased postsecondary enrollment rates among diverse student populations.

In her role as Chief Strategy Officer, Dr. Binion will focus on fostering partnerships, enhancing program effectiveness, and ensuring that the Commission’s initiatives are aligned with best practices in health equity. She will also lead efforts to engage communities and amplify the voices of those most affected by health inequities.
Dr. Binion is also actively involved in several professional organizations and has received numerous accolades for her contributions to education and community health. Her passion for social justice and commitment to systemic change aligns perfectly with the Community Health Commission’s vision of achieving health equity for all.
